What an amazing event! It was just the second time that we assembled and conducted a Ladies’ Night charity mixer in honor of all of the amazing women and girls in our hobby. We lucked out with the nine mystery boxes that we selected (2007 Upper Deck Ultimate Collection, 2008 Upper Deck SPA, 2008 Upper Deck SPx, 2009 Upper Deck Signature Stars, 2011 Topps Tier 1, 2016 Topps Legacy, 2016 Topps Tribute, 2016 Topps Triple Threads, and 2016 Panini Immaculate). The boxes definitely overperformed. Out of the 50 expected hits, we pulled 53—including a 1/1 Ken Griffey Jr.! When all was said and done, we were able to donate $150 to March of Dimes!

While we did endure a very rare hiccup during our YouTube stream, we were able to get back up and running and finish out the break in phenomenal fashion. You can go to our YouTube channel to check out both halves of the break. For those of you with less free time, or for those that just want to check out the hits, check out the Hits Recap video posted below.

Thank you so much to all those who participated in the break, to those who helped to promote it, and to LQ for hosting it. Thank you to Blowoutcards for the awesome discounts as always. Also, thanks to Topps, Upper Deck, and Panini for producing such fantastic products!

If you’re interested in joining one of our future breaks, be sure to subscribe to our Group Breaks Mailing List to be the first to be notified of new breaks. We’ll also be giving away one free spot in our upcoming Bowman Draft break if we can get to 2300 Twitter followers before the break sells out, so be sure to give us a follow there, too!

Thanks again, everyone, and keep crackin’ that wax!

It’s almost here—our second Ladies’ Night Charity Mixer! This year we’ll be busting open nine mystery boxes of baseball product from 2011 to 2016 and we’ll be donating to March of Dimes. We invite you to watch my wife tear into some packs of mid- to high-end baseball cards, so be back here at 5pm C on Saturday October 22 2016!

Recently, I sent out a poll to all those subscribed to our Group Breaks Mailing List to get a feel for how folks preferred their Crackin’ Wax Case Breaks. Below are the results.

In 2015 we did nearly 20 breaks. This year, we scaled that back to 8. It seems you think we've hit our sweet spot.

While a few of you would like to see us change things up a bit, the vast majority of you love that we stick to Pick Your Team (PYT) breaks.

It appears that most of you are happy with the charities we've chosen to benefit.

A surprising amount of you are interested in us bringing back the Season Pass for 2017.

No surprise that Series 1 tops the list of first half case break options. This may end up being the first year we DO NOT break Gypsy Queen since we started doing charity case breaks. Panini products seem to be unpopular.

This is the most surprising result of all. A&G tops the list as expected, but Series 2 and Topps Chrome surprisingly rounded out the top three.

Only four people responded to the final question, which was to write in any other products not listed that you would like us to break. Triple Threads made the list twice, Gold Label once, and a non-answer was left by the fourth respondent.

So, there you have it! We will take these responses to plan out the upcoming season of Crackin’ Wax charity case breaks! Thank you to those who took the time to respond to the poll, and as always, keep crackin’ that wax!
