Turkey Red Is Back Again? AGAIN? AGAIN?!

Mr. Paul Lesko tweeted out earlier today that Topps has applied for an intent-to-use trademark for Topps Turkey Red for trading cards.

Personally, I like Turkey Red as an insert, not as a standalone—especially with all of the other throwback sets out there (Heritage, Ginter, Gypsy Queen, Archives… some would argue that this year’s flagship is basically a 1987 throwback set). It was okay as a hobby product, but I didn’t care for it as an online-only product.

Is this a brand that should be brought back? If so, where would you like to see it? Back in Baseball or Football? Maybe in Soccer this time? How about a dumpster fire?

I can do without it. Topps is saturating the market with products that are similar looking and have gimmicks to differentiate them. Unfortunately they won’t stop because people still buy everything. Topps won’t be happy until every collector owns at least 10 Henry Owens autos.
