Holy Crap

There are many different kinds and levels of the expression professed in this topic’s title. There’s the “holy crap, I just met my childhood idol.” There’s the “holy crap, I just had the best slice of pizza ever.” There’s the “holy crap, that scared the hell out of me.” There’s also the “holy crap, I just stepped in a beehive.” The kind of “holy crap” I wish to convey is something I haven’t quite experienced before and I certainly hope I’ll be able to experience again.

Firstly, let me explain the significance of the holy crap before I reveal why the crap is, indeed, holy.

As you may know, I’m running an Allen & Ginter charity case break–a group case break in which I am giving away prizes in an effort to raise money for MLB’s RBI. I’m giving away a hobby box of 2013 Allen & Ginter as well as a mystery prize pack containing donated items. So far I’ve received Allen & Ginter hits from loyal wax cracker Deb, a big stack of autos and relics from fellow graphic designer Tom The Ripper as well as an uncut sheet of 13S1 from Topps. That in and of itself is enough to make me go holy crap. This next item, however, might be enough for YOU to do the same.

Just yesterday I received a donation that I thought getting would have been a long shot. Mixed in with some Take My Cards SASEs was a small flat rate USPS priority box. That box, pictured above, is filled with a donated prize. That prize was donated by a CURRENT MAJOR LEAGUE PLAYER.

Give me a moment to pinch myself.

This isn’t your run-of-the-mill guy, either. This player, whose identity shall remain secret until the mystery prize is revealed in full after the case break, is a well-known, well-respected and beloved player. Trust me, you WILL recognize him. I am so thankful and blown away by the generosity shown by this player. It’s flat out amazing.

Now, who wouldn’t want a chance at hits, autos, relics, an uncut sheet AND a mystery prize donated by a current MLB player? Who wouldn’t want a chance at ALL of that for just $5? Who wouldn’t want that $5 to go to charity instead of to me? I’m certainly hoping that EVERYONE that reads this does. Once the remaining three slots in the case break are secured, I’ll be accepting donations for the box of A&G as well as the amazing mystery prize pack–but not before!

So, please! Tell everyone you know about this case break! Get those last three slots secured so we can start raising some good money for a great cause! I can’t WAIT to start signing people up for these prizes!
