FIRST AND FOREMOST…
I woke at 4am, after having seen an advanced screening of The Dark Knight Rises at 7pm the night before, to the terrible news that the world is now very well aware of. I’d been struggling to decide the proper way to publicly handle the tragedy here on the blog. Do I completely ignore it and go about things business-as-usual? Do I completely ignore my readers and others who may trickle in and out within the next few days? I came to the conclusion that I cannot ignore what has happened, but at the same time no one is looking specifically to me for answers or opinions on the subject matter. I must respect the situation while sticking to what it is that I do here. Many thoughts concerning the Aurora massacre have been swirling around my head throughout the day, and the only thoughts that I believe are appropriate here are those of my sincerest condolences to the friends, family and loved ones of the victims of this atrocity.

The first group break at Crackin’ Wax (which was also played as a BoBuBingo) was AWESOME! Aside from an irritating newly imposed side-effect of a chat server that I’ve used many times in the past for BoBuBingos and Blaster Busters with zero problems whatsoever–a side-effect which caused a few folks to miss out on the prizes they should have won–it was a LOT of fun! That’s why I couldn’t wait to get onto the next group break.

Yep! 2012 Bowman Platinum! Interesting choice, I know. I liked the look of the product so much last year that I thought I’d give it another spin this year, and I’d like all of YOU to get in on it!

Oh, and look, Twins fans! It’s a Minnesota Twin on the sell sheet! (Pssst… it’s Miguel Sano)

Base Card

So, what’s so special about BP this year? It features a modest base card set of 100 subjects including all of the biggest stars from each team as well as a prospect set of 100 current and up-and-coming rookies.

Parallels are there, too, and are right in the goldilocks zone–not too many, to too few.

There are autographs abound as well–many of them on-card! Some of the auto’d features in this set include Purely Platinum–a metallic card signed in gold–and a continuation of the intense Bowman Black.

Of course, the big “get” in this year’s installment of BP is the 1-of-1 Bryce Harper “Mondo” bat barrel card.

Sound interesting? Then you’ll want to get in on this double box group break. All the details on the break and how to sign up can be found in the 2012 Bowman Platinum Group Break tab at the top of the blog.

And for those of you who missed out on the last break, look what we pulled!
